TUHMA RAATO
A Short zombie game made as part of my continuing studies of game design and production. The concept I had was to take a generic idea (zombie game) and give it my personal twist, evoking the kinda feelings I had watching old zombie movies as a teenager. Back when I was young, you had to order the movies (dvd´s and whatnot) from elsewhere, since the hard rated gory stuff, zombie movies and other exploitation, was damn hard to find in Finland... and well, I was underage so I couldnt probably buy that stuff anyhow. But it was a ton of fun to finally get some explicit movie package and then watch it with friends ´n pizza. We spent countless nights watching all kinds of classics and crap - it was always very magical and cool.
I tried my best to make the game session engaging and scary. Now, the game is most likely a bit unbalanced. Especially with the types of item drops (sometimes its really hard to find good weapons, for one), but forgive me for that since its a free short game and I didnt spent too much time tinkering with the balance. Life is unbalanced and unfair and you just have to deal with it. In fact, Im gonna say, I like those old shareware games where you never knew whats coming and they were janky and hard and for that reason so memorable.
Anyhow! My inspirations ofc range from Romero´s minimalistic and creepy Night of the Living Dead, to Fulci's more gnarly and gooey stuff, and then the original Diablo-game (no I haven´t played Project Zomboid yet!), pretty basic stuff. But I hope it has some of my personal twist and feel to it.
All in all, go give it a try and leave comments! Im contemplating on continuing this further, adding features or content, but no promises since its just a little side-thing and I'm a very busy person.
How to play: Move with WASD, aim with mouse. Holding down mousebutton acts as a repeating interaction/attack (it has a time buffer between "hits"). Find items and avoid zombies until 4am, then try to use a randomly assigned evacuation point.

For those who like Darkwood mixed with No More Room In Hell. Can you survive until 4 am? Trying to use a randomly assigned evacuation point.? And still playing under the old top-down mechanics with mouse and independent directional keys? Under stock shifts and low recovery? Then you will like TUHMA RAATO.

Okay it's running on Linux-wine. Okay, how can I do to select and equip the knife? The colour of menu to teach you is obfuscated by background the dark-red colour is harmonic but kept mixture and we barely see the info. Are many zombies so soon we began it could be annoying or boring someone. Let the player at least feeling the first 15 minutes to leap over into the atmosphere, and when they embraced the game shoot a plenty zombies and some tasks would be good. Over all the game is very beautiful left shift-keyboard and wasd movement pressed to sprint tire a little bit, also we need control aim selector (collector) with right hand in mouse cursor. If do you do just one tap in shift to run and other to back to walk? Soon as possible video comes. This game will work.
